Cindy Clark

Cindy Lewis Clark loves teaching, traveling, reading, hiking, and painting with encaustics. She has been recognized as outstanding art educator for Utah, received the Arthur Watkins award as educator of the year, received a national endowment for the arts scholarship, among many others. She taught advanced placement art, drawing, painting, printmaking, art foundations, and ceramics in Alpine District. She has been an adjunct professor at UVU and BYU and also a student teacher supervisor. In addition, she mentors elementary teachers in the Beverly Taylor Sorenson arts learning program at BYU.

She has exhibited original works of art in several juried shows including Utah Watercolor Society, BYU Museum, Woodbury Museum, Covey Center, Springville Museum, Artist's magazine, UWAE, and her work is published in Incite 3, a Northlight Book, ExponentII magazine, and Encaustizine. She has won several awards for her encaustic paintings and has taught numerous art workshops to students and teachers alike.

All artwork on this website are Cindy's encaustic paintings. Encaustic combines beeswax, resin, pigment and high heat. Each layer is fused to the previous layer to combine texture and color, often interspersed with collage.
